Hypnosis CDs and how to listen to them? 25TH OCTOBER 2007
Dear Helga,
Let me begin by explaining that Hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation that you choose to enter in order to achieve a goal. What I tell my clients is that when listening to a Hypnosis recording it is preferable to set aside time when nothing and no-one requires your attention. You will get so much more out of it if you don’t have to pay attention or worry about anything. Hypnosis CDs generally give you positive suggestions and messages. They can be very beneficial when you listen to them regularly. You do not have to focus your mind on listening to every word that is being said. Focus on relaxing your mind and body letting go of any stress or anxiety that you may have. In fact, the more relaxed you are the more receptive you will be to useful suggestions. Most recordings will start with some form of relaxation so all you need to do is let yourself go completely. You may hear something like, “Feel your legs melting into the chair beneath you”. It is best to be awake, in a sitting position, resting against pillows with your hands and feet uncrossed, hands are palm down resting loosely on your thighs and your teeth and lips slightly open to keep your jaw loose as well. Keep your legs and arms loose and limp like a rag doll and remember to breathe in deeply and breathe out slowly. Some people do fall asleep but that does not matter just keep at it. The most important thing is to listen to the CD consistently. Your subconscious will ensure that you hear absolutely everything that you need to hear. The more you practice self-hypnosis and visualise accomplishing your goals the easier it will be for you to paint a picture in your mind and experience it as if it were real. The suggestions on the CD guide you along this path and make it easier for you. This is how you create what you want in your life. They say it takes 21 days to change a habit, so listen to it once a day for at least 21 consecutive days for the best results. Don’t worry about doing it perfectly. There is no ‘should’ or ‘supposed to’ when using self-hypnosis CDs. You will find that some days you are more receptive than others and that is okay too. The important thing is to “just do it” consistently. You may be amazed by the results.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards

A HYPNOTHERAPIST from Forest Row has asked a local lyre expert to provide some of the music for her life-changing CDs. Florence Mackay, 46, of Blacklands Crescent, who practises from the Ashdown Natural Health Clinic, aims to help people achieve their goals and develop new skills through the Mind Harmony project. With CDs on issues such as weight control, confidence and fear of flying, Mrs Mackay hopes to improve the quality of life for those who listen to them. A self-taught lyre expert. Hugh Baker, of Wray Close, Ashurst Wood, often tours in Europe and the USA, singing as well as playing.

Mrs Mackay decided to ask him to get involved in the recording of the CDs because the lyre was used to produce music for therapeutic purposes in ancient Greek times. She said: "Listening regularly to these CDs will enable people to break through their limiting beliefs and allow them to consistently achieve their best". She said she would soon be working on new CDs on stopping smoking, insomnia and public speaking. Some of the proceeds are being donated to Step by Step, an independent school for autistic children aged between five and 16 in Sharpthorne.
