ONE session with a Hypnotherapist proved a breath of fresh air for a 20-a-day
smoker who claims to have kicked the habit thanks to her methods.
Roland Stent, of Lismore Crescent, Broadfield, has found himself healthier in the
lungs and the wallet after he visited clinical Hypnotherapist Florence McKay to
help him quit the fags.
Mr. Stent, 52, who had been a smoker for 35 years, said: “It was the best thing
that could have happened to me. Of course I was sceptical at first, but since the
session I have not had a cigarette for 18 months.”
The Gatwick Airport BAA security guard added: “One thing I always said I’d never
do was remarry. I had been single for 10 years, but six moths after quitting
cigarettes I met someone new and last month we got engaged.”
He also worked out that he now saves £2,000 a year – money he would have
used to pay for cigarettes.
Mr Stent originally tried to give up smoking using nicotine patches and chewing
gum, but nothing worked.
“I did get diagnosed diabetic by the doctor, but that was not the reason I went to
Florence McKay,” he said.
“I wanted to give up smoking for some time but I was getting nowhere.”
In October 2003, he went to visit Florence McKay at her base in Forest Row,
where she hypnotised him to quit the habit.
He said: “After the session I just felt normal. I did get the occasional urge to
smoke. I thought I would when I went down the pub but I didn’t.
“People smoking around me doesn’t bother me now. Both I and my friends
cannot believe it.”
